Another sunny day...

Hat: Thrifted
Glasses: Thrifted (and my sisters)
Crop top: Gap
Shorts: My moms from the 90's
Sandals: Payless
Watch: Free People

So today I went thrifting and found this really cute hat. I was in love!!!! Last time I saw amazing hats a the thrift store, my sister advised against their purchase, so I let them go. Today when I saw a hat, I decided that I would not let another amazing hat leave me again, so I purchased it. And I'm so happy I did. I have so many outfits planned with it. It's going to be fun!

I got this watch on sale on the Free People website. I've been looking for a watch for a while but I haven't been able to find any fashionable digital watches (I'm not very good with analog). This watch is great though it only tells military time.

Here  are the sandals I wore with the outfit. I actually found them in the dress up box in my basement and didn't knoow where they came from. I finnaly found out that they were from payless a long time ago. They are really cute and I constantly wear them durring the summer.

Chictopia (sounds like a magical land)...

So, I've been taking a little break from blogging, a three day hiatus to be more exact. The thing is, I've been having issues with taking pictures. I've learned that every blogger needs a tripod and this one needs money for a tripod, I wonder how much a really cheap one would cost? This Saturday I was planning on going to some esate sales and doing a photo shoot in a historic cemetry, which to my dismay did not happen. But I did start my own Chictopia account!!!!!! It's fun and I hope some if you could check it out. It's the same photos as on the blog. Then on Sunday I was going to make up for my lack of shopping by going to a flea market early yesterday morning which also did not happen since I woke up at 11. However, I redeemed myself becuase yesterday, right before it was going to turn dark, I decided to take some outfit photos and get back into the game! So here they are...

Hair ribbon: laundry room
White camisole: H&M
Belt: Thrifted
Shorts: My mom's, 90's Ralph Lauren
Shoes: Jeffery Campbell
Purse: Thrifted

So I'm going to talk about these shorts a little. They were my mom's in the 90's and they are huge on me. However, I made them into a really east DIY project. Anyone can fit into any sizeshorts. All you have to do is pull them up to your waist and belt them. Then make sure the scruched waist appers to be a paper bag waist. Then just roll up the legs to the desired length, volia! perfect high waisted shorts.

Here's a really great vintage snake ring I got last week. I am obsessed with animal rings now a days!

Here are my beloved Jeffery Campbell shoes.

Also I changed the background, header, the overall style of my blog. Like, dislike, any suggestions? If you do I would love some constructive critisism, I'm totally stuck on what to do about the blog's format.

Songbird...

So  it's my fourth post. I don't know when I'm going to stop announcing what number post it is, maybe when I've done 10. Okay that's what I'll do...

So today I decided to do another outfit post. About a week ago I got this dress for my birthday and fell in live with it. It has a bird print, which I love immensly. I actually have two other bird print dresses that are from H&M, but this is by far my favorite.

Dress: Modcloth
Cardigan: TJ MAXX
80's Flats: Thrifted

I love animal prints (pictures of animals, not skin prints, though there is a time and a place for those). I was looking for animal print dresses online and all that showed up were taki leapord and zebra print cougar dresses. There is a Miu Miu esque dress by Zara that I've wanted for a long time, but they don't sell them online and I'd have to drive an hour to a store.

These pictures were so hard to take. I had to use the self timer and had to put the camera on a spider webby (is that even a word?) window sill and I was very afraid to say the least. There was actually a venomous (or what I thought was venomous) spider waiting on the other side of the sill. It was lurking, waiting to kill me! I actually took some pictures of my rings onr a tree and guess what else was on there... another HUGE SPIDER. (I am very frightened by those eight legged beasts!) It was such a spidery day!

Ahhhh!

The top ring is a swan from Forever 21. I love it! More birds! The  prayer bracelet is from a Tibetan store in Nantucket, Mass. The gold bracelet is from my grandmother. In the bottom picture there's there's the gold ring I've showed before and the two black ones are from Henri Bendel's.

You might be thinking, those shoes match perfectly with the dress, and you would be right. I usually don't like to be matchy matchy but I found these shoes thrifting while wearing the dress and thought they were perfect. Plus they were fairly cheap, $6, why not buy them at that price. Plus I always wanted something studded (I don't have anything studded except these shoes, gasp!)

There's my dog, Shadow, isn't he cute! I was taking pictures and I was about to stop when he sat down right next to me and remained completly still as if he was poing. So I decided that he wanted his picture taken. And he did. He was so happy!

Day three: Some outfit photos!

I feel so accomplished! It's day three and I haven't given up. So today I decided to take some outfit photos.

Sun Glasses: Vintage
Swiss Dot Camisole: H&M
Mesh Cardigan: Urban Outfitters
Belt: Thrifted
Shorts: J Crew
Flats: H&M

It took forever to get a descent picture. I never realized how hard it was to take pictures of yourself. Aye! I don't have a tripod and my self timer only gave me 5 seconds to set myself up. Note to self: BUY A TRIPOD! I was running all over the place and then when I would get there the camera would have fallen off wherever I put it. It was so frustrating! But isn't this picture worth it?

Here's a pin I found thrifting last Saturday. There was a bin of old bits of jewelry and I found a lot of cameos in it, including this one. I love cameos. Actually, as I type, I'm opening a package from Miss Selfridge with a scarf with cameos on it. Isn't this pin lovely?
In that bin I also found some sort if monocle. Finding the value in it, I bought it and this morning before school I turned it into the necklace I am wearing.

Here are some pictures of my bun. Isn't it cool looking? I actually don't know how I made it so perfect and swirly, but I did. The perfect swirly bun will probably never happen again so I'm glad I documented it

Here are some rings I wore with my outfit. The closest one was found in the bin with the cameo pin. The two gold ones on my ring finger are from Henri Bendel's and came in a set of four (two gold, two black). Sometimes I like to split the up.

Last but not least is my beautiful basket purse. It's my favorite thing right now. I got it at another thrift store for $4!!!!! It had a lot of problems though. It was really dirty outside and inside, had tears in the lining and even had gook stuck inside one of the pockets(gross!). But now it's all cleaned up and beautiful. Look at it glisten!

Instants from the past...

Hey, second post! Whoooooo! Okay, maybe I'm getting too excited but whatever, I don't care. I'm having so much fun blogging and what not. I was going to take outfit pictures today but I couldn't get my arse off the couch and go outside. Then I was going to take pictures of some animal rings I own, but again, I didn't want to move. So now I'm reduced to showing old pictures I took with my Diana F+ camera with instant film.

Here's two pictures I took of my miror. It is also the header of my blog. If you look closely you can see my reflection in the mirror.

So here is are two photos of my record player playing a Ra Ra Riot record, which is orange! Unfortunately when I recieved it it was scratched so I returned it and now it is long gone. At least I captured it in film! Behind the record is my awesome She & Him poster by the Small Stakes! (Two of my favorite things) Don't the blue and orange compliment eachother so nicely?

Now here is a picture of me in a fasinator. Oh, how I love vintage hats! I was at this thrift store on Saturday and wanted to buy all the hats in the store. Unfortunatley my older sister stopped me from buying any of them and told me I looked crazy in them. I know I looked cute so I'll sneak back (this time alone) and buy them all! This hat is actually not vintage but from Modcloth. It's as cute as heck anyways (though I look like one of the living dead in this picture).

The First of Many...

So I'm just going to dive into this blogging thing and write my first post...

So here's an outfit I took pictures of in May. I love it because it's pretty simple.  The best part of this outfit and the reason I posted it is because of those cute tan shoes on my feet. They are by my favorite shoe designer, Jeffery Campbell. They are the best shoes I've ever owned. I wear them almost every day. Here's a close up of my darlings.

They have a a great weaving pattern that allows air to flow freely around my feet, keeping them happy and beautiful. The peep toe adds additional breeziness and cuteness. My favorite thing about these shoes is the fact that my great grandmother had a pair of shoes just like these. They were her favorite just like these are mine. The funniest thing is that I didn't know it when I bought them. I showed them to my grandmother and she was shocked at the resemblence between the pairs. Theses shoes are gorgeous and I love them.
